June 21stCeremonial Opening Ktunaxa Nation, The Great Trail (TransCanada Trail), RDEK, TrailsBC and local volunteersRampart Prairie (just south of the rest area on Highway 3)7:30 am for ceremonial opening, sign unveiling, drummers and talks by representatives of the Ktunaxa and The Great Trail.
June 30thWardner/ Mayook BBQ and Concert by Heather Gemmell and friends plus campout.Wardner Community ParkStarts at 6 pm Camping available at Wardner Park. Funding by the RDEK.
July 1stCranbrook to Wardner Destination Trail Grand Opening at Wardner Continental Breakfast (8-9am) and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony (9:30am) Start of run, ride, walk to Cranbrook (10 am)Starts at Wardner. Alternate starting points to run, ride or walk for all abilities are at Ha Ha Rd. (11 am), Pritchard Rd. (12:45pm), Rampart Prairie (1:30pm) and Alliance Church (3pm).Ribbon Cutting, run, bike, and hike from Wardner to Cranbrook (with entry points for all abilities along the way). Gather at Alliance Church in Cranbrook for a parade to Rotary Park. Shuttles for pre-registrants start at 7:15am. (max 150)

Thank you to all the volunteers, funders, Ktunaxa Nation, The Great Trail, TrailsBC, the Regional District of the East Kootenay, the Wardner and Mayook Communities, the City of Cranbrook, the people of our region, over the years and for these events, to create this Great C2W Trail.

We have a world class trail! We love it. This, and our Great Trail network, will attract others to experience and live in our Kootenay Rockies.
